MEMENTO
Senior Thesis exploring my personal fascination with nostalgia.
I want to represent the ache of nostalgia, the need whether subconsciously or not, to romanticize a part of life already gone. Personal experience is something I draw from for most of this work, and in doing so I’m exploring this path of memories, as I present my loved ones and cherished moments in my life.
In doing this, the unexpected challenge of parsing through memories and potential dreams has come up enough for me to want to explore this further. Through the blurred lines between fact and fiction, the idea of my own personal history can be skewed. The experimental use of different mediums, whether they be acrylic paints or old envelopes. Using art supplies that have caught my eye or taking pages from a beloved book, I aim to use what speaks to me personally.
